BIOGAS PLANTS – “BIO-TURTLE” SERIES
Innovaterm proposes systems with 2 chambers that can treat air flows from 500 Nmc/h up to 10.000 Nmc/h and more, with the foresight to withstand high temperatures (normally over 500°C) and take full advantage of the low calorific value of the biogas for this application.
The activities of cogeneration obtained by biogas combustion (from landfill or from farm)produces tons of exhaust gas with residues that have to be treated appropriately.
Until a few years ago were sufficient suitable measures (on sulfur input to the combustion engine and on channelers output), now a stricter term environmental and a more careful environmental sensitivity, involve the installation of special oxidizers that treat the unburned fumes that are rich in CO, NOx and overall in COT. Following the entry into force of Legislative Decree n. 152/2006 , as well as with the relevant directives of the European Union (Council of State sentence no.3316 of 2 July 2014 ), all Biogas plants present on the national territory have been regulated which will be able to issue:
no more than 150mg / Nmc of C.O.T. (total organic carbon)
calculated as the sum of methane and non-methane compounds.

Catalytic and non-catalytic filters may complete the provided system.
Biogas – evolution of legislation and technical solutions
In the field of control exhaust air of biogas engines, progress has been made in the management of NOx without using catalysts, exploiting thermal oxidation with the appropriate mixing of Urea.
Despite a very low consumption of biogas, it is possible to obtain excellent values of CO, COT and NOX.
More and more regions do notmake as much difference between non-methane and methane residues: the optimal solution for not having more problems of compliance with environmental standards is thermal oxidation.
Unlike normal thermal oxidizer, Innovaterm takes care a lot the inlet and outlet valves , necessitating a resistance to high temperatures (500° C ) and having to tolerate the expansion effect of steel for temperature hikes.
